A stronger single moment or gesture, placed deliberately, would give the crowd a spine to read against.

The light is flat and overcast, with the storm clouds diffusing any directional modelling. Faces and figures receive soft, even illumination that flattens form and offers little separation between subjects and the busy background. There is a slight brightening at frame right where the sun threatens to break, hinting at more dramatic possibilities, but the moment isn't seized. The dark, textured sky is the one genuine asset here — it carries mood the ground-level light doesn't. Waiting for a shaft of directional light would have transformed this.

Exposure is well judged for a high-contrast overcast scene. The dramatic clouds retain detail without blowing to white, and shadow areas among the crowd hold information. The one reservation is that f/10 with everything sharp reinforces the composition's lack of hierarchy — nothing is optically prioritized. A wider aperture wouldn't suit this deep scene, so the fix is compositional rather than technical. Execution is competent and the gear is well matched to the reportage task; the technical choices serve the intent cleanly even if the image itself doesn't fully exploit them.
